The City of Gustine requires that you obtain a Business License before starting business in the City limits.
Where do I get a business license?
Business Licenses may be obtained at City Hall, 682 3rd Avenue.

How long is the business license valid?
Most businesses are on annual billing cycles. Contractors may purchase a quarterly license for those projects that are estimated to last less than 3 months.
How much does a business license cost?
Costs vary by type of business and location of business. Below, please see the fee schedule for City business licenses. If you cannot find the fee that applies to your business, please contact the Finance Department at 209.854.6471 for more information.
Rates for Fixed Place of Business:
• Every person engaged in selling goods, wares, merchandise, or services of any description
in the City shall pay $60.00 annually.
• Every person engaged in manufacturing in the City shall pay $150.00 annually.
• Every person who delivers goods, wares or merchandise within the City limits shall pay
$40.00 annually.
• Every person engaged in the leasing of premises consisting of four or more units within the
City shall pay $60.00 annually.
Rates for Non-Fixed Place of Business:
• Except as otherwise provided in the Municipal Code, every person engaged in any business
or any agency for any person, where the principal does not have a fixed place of business
in the City shall pay $100 annually.
• Every person not having a fixed place of business in the City, who delivers goods, wares or
merchandise on an established route within the City shall pay $40.00 annually.
