Gustine Police Department

                          Animal Control/Community Service Division

Animal Control Services/Community Services

In 2004 the department established the animal control division, comprised of one full time, non-sworn, officer.  This officer is responsible for animal control, dog licensing, vehicle and weed abatement programs.  The Gustine animal control has six kennels for found dogs that are picked up for running at large. If no owner is located for the dog, it is then taken to the Merced County animal Control Facility in Merced.  Dogs and cats are held at the kennel for a maximum of five days. If you are missing your dog, or you have captured a stray dog, please call Police Communications.
Animal Control also responds to complaints of noisy animals. If you have questions about Gustine Animal Control or community services, contact the Animal Control Officer between the hours of 8AM and 5PM five days a week.
The City of Gustine requires that all dogs over the age of four months be licensed. A city dog license form can be picked up at the GPD lobby, at any of the local veterinarians, and at the local pet stores. Protect your pet from getting lost; license your dog with the City today.
